Duran Consultingsm is dedicated to
the resolution of career and workplace issues with insight, wit, sensitivity,
and heart.
Through its individual counseling practice and workplace programs and presentations, Duran Consulting offers a unique process that allows organizations to fulfill their missions, individuals to make the changes they need to see their work as a source of joy and satisfaction safely and with confidence, and guiding both along their individual paths to achieving sustained excellence in their chosen fields.

Alexandra Duran has helped me better understand and adapt to a politically challenging corporate law department environment. She combines the compassionate listening skills she honed as a psychiatric social worker with the practical sensibility and political savvy she developed from her human resources and legal work experience. As a career coach, Alexandra devotes herself wholeheartedly to serving as a professional partner.

Alexandra Duran, the Principal and CEO of Duran Consulting, is a former psychotherapist, human resources executive, and attorney; and a current Independent Director of Genworth Life Insurance Company of New York. As such, Alexandra brings special insight — as well as thirty years experience — to the career and workplace issues encountered by professionals, executives, and academics. With her energy, practicality, compassion, and rich understanding of the workplace, Alexandra has helped many individuals and organizations maximize their potential and fulfill their missions. She has coached and consulted with individuals, institutions, companies, and industry and professional groups on a variety of career development, workplace dynamics, and corporate culture issues.

I have worked with Alexandra for over eight years, and she has become an important and close personal advisor. Alexandra has an uncanny ability to understand one's skills and talents, and over the course of our eight-year relationship, she has given me valuable advice to position myself for success. Alexandra understands the individual; her approach is highly individualized and positively motivational.

Ms. Duran remains in demand as a speaker and facilitator, on a variety of career and workplace topics, in academic and corporate meetings and retreats.

After retiring from a long business career with the final 10 years as CEO of one of the largest insurance companies in the world, I thought teaching in a business school would be an easy transition. It was not. Telling stories and lecturing get you only so far. Alexandra Duran sat in on one of my classes, met with me afterwards with her notes and made a major contribution to improving my classroom performance.
